Code of Conduct
Purpose and scope Cumbernauld Tennis Club aims to provide a tennis venue that is safe, inclusive and has a positive atmosphere so that everyone is able to enjoy playing tennis at this Club. Our code of conduct is designed to support this aim.
The Code of Conduct sets out minimum standards of behaviour, which all members are expected to follow, and seeks to avoid any serious issues arising.
All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background, religious beliefs or sexual orientation.
This policy applies to all staff, coaches, volunteers, players, parents/carers and any other individuals associated with Cumbernauld Tennis Club.
Code of conduct – all members must:
- Play within the rules and regulations of the LTA and respect officials and their decisions
- Wear suitable clothing for play, training and match sessions, partisan clothing is discouraged (eg football strips)
- Be respectful and courteous when using club social media eg WhatsApp/Facebook
- Ensure payment of your membership especially if there are changes to bank details
- Be courteous to players on other courts
- Sweep the court after play has finished
- Put litter in the bin and not leave it on the courts
- Release net tension if no one waiting to play
- Not smoke on the courts or in the immediate vicinity
- Wait for a suitable break in play before crossing courts or entering the gate
- Advise reception that floodlights can be switched off, if you are the last to leave at night
- Ensure the storage box is locked, if you are last to leave the court
- Keep to agreed timings for training and competitions, or inform coach or team captain if they are going to be late
