Dave Sanger plays number 1 for Dorset Senior Team who are crowned National Champions

Play in the Men’s 35 Inter-County Championships at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne, from 28 to 30 August was curtailed by one day when rain rendered the grass courts unplayable on the Friday.

By late morning on Saturday, play was in full swing as the 44 county teams took to the courts.  The standard of play was high and some breath-taking rallies were enjoyed by the many spectators.

By lunchtime on Sunday, Dorset, the title-holders, had reached an unassailable position having won all ten rubbers played and were crowned champions.  Middlesex took second place and Cambridgeshire and Berkshire were relegated to division 2 to be replaced in 2016 by North of Scotland and Surrey.
