STOP PRESS - Southbourne Tennis Club in Bournemouth set a UK record for the most people taking part in a cardio Tennis session at one time.

The record was achieved on Saturday 15th June with an event organised by the Dave Sanger coaching team where 134 people were taking part in a Cardio tennis session on three courts. The morning was a great success with both children and adults having a really enjoyable time and also keeping fit. People taking part were working hard and having great fun for over an hour during the morning.

The event was also run in aid of Chernobyl Children's Lifeline Charity and Southbourne Tennis Clubs Disability and Community fund and £1600 was raised on the day.

The club runs several cardio sessions during the week, see the website for details.

Keith Mitchell, chairman of the club, said he ‘was very proud of what the coaching team had achieved and wished to thank them together with Judith and Andrew Sanger who helped with the organisation and Carlo Pegorini for an excellent BBQ. Now we have achieved this I am hoping the club may go for the world record at its next event!!’
