Anyone for tennis?
Dalkeith is a place to play tennis and have fun, no matter your standard.
Age is no barrier either – we have teenage members and toddlers, and youngsters in their 70s (our surface is great for the knees).
Guests are welcome too (there’s a £5 fee). If there’s no one about, email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a game. There is always someone looking for a hit!
Also email email@example.com to redeem your free guest pass - a great way to try out the facilities and hopefully get the taste for more! See the Home page for more details.
Social tennis typically takes place twice weekly in the evenings - 6pm to 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 1pm to 5pm on Saturday afternoons. These days can occasionally be subject to change, especially between April and June, so please check Facebook and the club noticeboard for when it is on.
This is where players of all abilities mix in just for fun (and some cake!) It is a great way to meet members and get some tennis hours in too. Please don't be put off thinking 'I'm not good enough' -this really is a mixed variety of players and ages. If you are not sure about coming down, get in touch with us beforehand and we can meet you at the gate to introduce you.
We also run some fun tournaments such as mini tennis and family events for everyone throughout the season.
Want to compete?
Testing yourself against other players and clubs is a great way to get better.
Dalkeith competes in the East of Scotland Leagues. You can see how we’re getting on here:
Our Junior teams combine with local clubs Musselburgh and Joppa to compete in the Aegon Team Tennis Leagues.
We also have veterans’ teams who play in the East Lothian Leagues, while the Summer Social League is a good way to meet players from other clubs.
Our club championships are open to all full members and are held at the end of the summer - check the dates here.
