DAVID SIMMS

DAVID SIMMS is a qualified LTA Tutor and a former BTCA National Executive Committee Member with a 30 year track record of creating and delivering award winning mass participation programmes in the club, local authority and community sectors.

Much of his work has been in successfully taking a creative and innovative approach to bring Tennis to non-traditional areas in inner cities. He is currently Director of the Liverpool Tennis Foundation – a large scale community programme which delivers Tennis in clubs, parks and schools on a citywide basis.

All of his programmes have been notable for creating high participation and retention rates and the coach education elements have seen over 150 graduates of his programmes go onto full time careers as coaches, tennis development officers and programme directors.

He has specialised in researching Development and Programming theory using first hand studies of best practice worldwide. He is passionate about getting more people playing and staying within tennis.
