Play Tennis Dawson Park

Play Tennis in Dawson Park

Dawson Park offers 4 floodlit tennis which remain free to access.  Booking is required.

The tennis courts are found in the East end of Dawson Park between the cricket pavilion and the bowling club.  Toilet facilities can be found adjacent to the tennis courts and are open all year. The nearest car park to the tennis court can be found on Caenlochan Road.

Dawson Park is the result of a bequest in 1940, by Mr William Dawson of Broughty Ferry "for the purpose of providing playing fields, sports grounds or other recreational facilities ..."

The ground was purchased from the Douglas and Angus Estate in 1949, and the park was opened in the mid 1950's.

It is still a focus for sport in the East end of the city, with numerous pitches of both natural grass and artificial, tennis and basketball courts, a bowling club and various changing facilities.

The park has feature plantings, a sunken garden, and a formal cherry avenue along the north axis, which is particularly stunning in spring.

Duntrune Community Garden, which aims to provide information and ideas for small gardens, is also located within the heart of the park. Visit the Duntrune Community Garden webpage for further details.
