Fife Olympiad

In July Dunfermline tennis club players Michael Morrison (17) and Rory La Trobe (14) travelled to Boblingen Germany to compete at the 2017 Twin Town Olympiad, which is held every three years.

The Olympiad was created to give young people, aged between 13 and 17 the chance to experience new cultures, compete in other countries and make new friends. Around 1,200 young people took part, from seven countries, competing in eleven sports.

The boys had a wonderful experience and also played fantastic tennis. Each of them took a position on the podium; Michael winning bronze in the 18U and Rory winning silver in 16U.

The Fife Team as a whole won the 'Team Award'.

The next Twin Town Olympiad will be held in Pontoise, France in 2020.
