CODE OF CONDUCT
Please adhere to the following code of conducts at all times.
This Code of Conduct applies to all individuals using Edinburgh public parks tennis courts.
By accessing and using these facilities, players agree to follow the rules outlined below to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
1. General Court Etiquette - Treat all players, spectators, and staff with courtesy and respect. - Share courts fairly and follow posted reservation or rotation systems. - Keep noise to appropriate levels; avoid disruptive behaviour. - Do not use offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language.
2. Safety and Sportsmanship - Always prioritise safety for yourself and others. - Refrain from aggressive play that may endanger other players. - Do not throw rackets, hit balls recklessly, or engage in unsafe conduct. - Use equipment and courts as intended.
3. Court Use and Care - Use non-marking tennis shoes only. - Do not drag feet, benches, or equipment across the surface. - Clean up all trash, including water bottles, grips, and tape. - Report damage or unsafe conditions to park staff. - No food, glass containers, or alcohol on the courts.
4. Respect for Scheduled Activities - Vacate courts promptly at the end of your allotted time. - Allow space and consideration for lessons, tournaments, or city programs. - Avoid interfering with adjacent courts. 5. Youth and Family Guidelines - Children under 14 must be supervised by an adult when required by park rules. - Courts are for tennis (or designated racket sports) only—no bikes, skateboards, or non-tennis activities.
6. Pets and Personal Items - Pets are generally not allowed inside court enclosures unless park signage states otherwise. - Keep personal belongings off the playing surface.
7. Prohibited Conduct - Harassment, threats, or physical altercations. - Vandalism or intentional court damage. - Unauthorised lessons, sales, or organised activities. - Smoking, vaping, or drug use on or near courts.
How far in advance can I book a court?
Courts can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
How much does it cost to book a court?
There is a small charge of just £1 per hour to book a court.
What is your refund policy?
In order to receive a refund for a court booking you must cancel more than 24 hours in advance of your booking.
What should I do if my gate code doesn't work?
Please ensure you are entering the * (star) key, followed by your 6-digit code.
You can access the court at a maximum of 10 minutes before your start time.
Please check that you are not trying to enter the code more than 15 minutes before your booking start time.
