Cardio Tennis Plus

A new community tennis initiative open for everyone in Edinburgh!

This brand new progressive programme is an initiative that has been put in place by Edinburgh University Tennis Coordinator and Strength and Conditioning Coach Calum Meston, and Musselburgh based Personal Trainer / Strength and Conditioning Coach - Kevin Grigg. This programme will begin on the 9th of November from 8PM until 930PM and will run for six weeks under the floodlights at The Meadows. For contact information please see below.

Before anyone get's confused, it's important to us that we highlight the difference between Cardio Tennis and Cardio Tennis Plus and why you should consider the course. 

 

What is Cardio Tennis?

Cardio Tennis is a high-energy fitness class that combines the best features of the sport of tennis with cardiovascular exercise and light muscular endurance, it’s for players of all abilities (from beginner to advanced level players) and delivers the ultimate a full body, calorie burning aerobic workout.

Cardio Tennis has a heavy emphasis on also being a very sociable class with lots of fun activities throughout – partner drills, hitting scenarios and games. It’s commonly led on a tennis court by tennis coaches with a Cardio Tennis qualification.

 

What is Cardio Tennis Plus?

Cardio Tennis Plus is also high energy fitness class that combines the best features of the sport of tennis but it goes slightly more in depth so participants get quicker, faster results than regular Cardio Tennis.

The difference between the two is that Cardio Tennis Plus is delivered by Strength and Conditioning Coaches (PT’s) specific to sport and to tennis. This promises the clients/participants a more in detail approach to the physiological benefits of why they should perform each exercise to improve their game. Similarly, it’s still a highly sociable class and is for players of all abilities that are serious about wanting to improve their physical performance on court. Watch that forehand improve dramatically!

  • Fitness Tests – week one and week six.
  • Tennis specific exercise regimes to improve performance.
  • Expert coaching from 2x Strength and Conditioning Coaches
  • Nutritional Advice and Performance Tracking
  • Enhanced Levels of Flexiblity and Range of Motion
  • Faster, more efficient and better results.
  • More focus on muscular work – calories burned will be remarkably higher.
  • An information pack tailored to each client
  • A motivated group of people with a great social kick!
