History of Elham Sports Club

Elham tennis courts were opened in September 1987 and subsequently managed by Elham Sports Club Committee, part of the Elham Village Hall.

Number 2 court was fitted out to cater for 5-a-side football and basketball.

At the end of 1999 the new Village Hall opened. The main hall was constructed to facilitate a badminton court. Pickleball was introduced in 2023.

Membership of the club is very healthy and regular tennis, badminton and pickleball sessions are held throughout the week. Members have access to an easy to use court booking system and coaching by a qualified coach can be arranged.

Both tennis court surfaces and surrounds have recently been refurbished and the floodlights upgraded to excellent LED lights conforming to LTA recommended standards.

Social functions include fun tennis/picnic days and an annual supper.

The Sports Club has dedicated toilets and washrooms within the Village Hall.

The emphasis is always on having fun whilst keeping fit in a safe and secure facility.
