court update

Following the latest major Covid 19  update from the Government we will open up both courts from today and bring back Club Night from Wednesday July 8 at 6pm. However, we also need to be cautious, as current events in the UK and elsewhere show we must not do it too quickly.  After receiving inconclusive advice from the LTA, but following Government regulations, we have decided to implement the following:

Both courts will now be available for use.  However, due to the size of our space at FTC, we will be restricting the number of people on the Club's space (the two courts) at any one time to 6 players maximum. This is because we consider it to be a single gathering and the maximum number of people allowed at such a gathering is 6.  They MUST all be members and no visitors are allowed.   The only possible exception will be a gathering of two families who will still need to follow social distancing guidelines but all of them need to be members.  All other previously published rules will remain the same (e.g. toilets are still closed and the bench outside the hut must not be used).

The space (the two courts) can still only be booked for one hour but the one exception will be Club Night which will be for two hours from 6 - 8pm on Wednesday evenings for which I will take responsibility.  Every other time, a booking must be made online by a member who will take responsibility for entering the names of all players on the court for the booking.  If anybody has already booked a court you can now update your booking by adding participants' names.   This is to ensure track and trace capabilities should anyone be found later to be infected with Covid 19

On Club Night we will offer spaces to first come, first served via the Club's WhatsApp group.  Anyone who wishes to be included on the app should email Helen Hallam on fairfordtennismembership@gmail.com with their mobile number and she will put them on our Group. Alternatively, open this link to join our WhatsApp Group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/3qI4PodZqYMGmzYRYloN4R

We will continue to monitor the situation and hope we can return to a "new normal" later in the summer.

STAY SAFE and enjoy your tennis.
