We're open

Fairford Tennis Club – Courts Reopening

I am pleased to announce that, following the Government and LTA announcements, we are reopening the courts at Fairford Tennis Club.  Your Health and Safety is our prime consideration so please read and follow the rules we have drawn up in this initial phase of opening.  We will be monitoring the situation carefully in the coming weeks and providing updates as we move, hopefully, to our previous “normal” operation.

Membership and Booking

You need to renew your Membership online via ClubSpark on our website.  Once payment has been received, you will receive a code that allows you entry to the courts. You must book online (maximum one hour, with no repeat booking) and cannot just show up.  In order to monitor numbers and maximise safe practice we will be allowing only one court to be used (initially at least).   Club members only, no visitors please.

Club Hut and Hygiene

The Club hut and toilet will remain shut and out of bounds.  We ask you to bring your own hand sanitiser, which you should use before and after play, although we will endeavour to make some available for emergencies.  It is also recommended you bring your own water bottle.  Keep people, clothing etc. well away from those of previous/following groups (‘social distancing rules’).  It is recommended that you DON’T use the table/bench in front of the hut.  Please take your rubbish home with you.

Change-overs and Leaving the Site

Please aim to complete your game promptly by the end of your booked time slot. If you are the last person leaving the site you must lock the gate(s) (to prevent unauthorized persons entering and potentially causing contamination, theft or other harm). Remember to use hand sanitiser when you finish and wash hands when you return home.

Rules of Play

Please bring your own marked balls, which you should use when you serve, and take them home with you.  If possible, avoid hand contact with balls belonging to others – hit or kick them back.  Doubles play is only allowed between members of the same household. Only singles games are allowed between people not from the same household. Do not shake hands, hug (or whatever) and you may want to avoid changing ends – alternatively, change at opposite ends of the net. The nets will be set at the correct height so please don’t adjust them.  Play will only be allowed in daylight hours.

Coaching

Andy will be available for coaching but only one on one.  He will be responsible for booking the Court.

Thanks and Good Luck and Welcome Back! Mitch Watkins, Chairman, Fairford Tennis Club
