Finsbury Park Tennis Court Terms and Conditions

Booking Policies

  • We do not authorise privately organised group tennis activities, such as private coaching, social tennis sessions and events.
  • Block bookings are only provided to partner organisations/groups who have a prior agreement in place with The Access to Sports Project.
  • Only coaches affiliated with Tennis for All are permitted to deliver private coaching sessions on the Finsbury Park Tennis Courts and any other courts where Tennis for All is the coaching provider. No baskets are allowed on court for private bookings.
  • Any unauthorised private coaching with non-affiliated Tennis for All coaches will result in your court bookings being cancelled without refund. Consistent failure to adhere to this policy may result in further restrictions for both coach and player regardless of who the court was booked by.

  • Individuals are only allowed one account for use on Clubspark in their own name. It is not permitted for an individual to deliberately use multiple profiles to accumulate court time. Any
    they will be warned. If this is found to happen again the accounts will be deleted and the individual blocked from booking tennis courts at Finsbury Park.

Users must have correct contact and payment details linked to their account on Clubspark. Use of false details is prohibited, and the account will be closed and associated details blocked from being used.

  • Individuals are only allowed one account for use on Clubspark. If an individual is deliberately using multiple profiles to accumulate court time, then they will be deleted and the individual blocked from using Clubspark for 6 months.
  • Bookings are valid for the named person only and are non-transferable to anyone else.
  • Some courts at selected times are reserved by The Access to Sports Project for coaching programmes. Only coaches approved by Tennis for All can operate on the courts, and book courts in advance for individual coaching lessons.
  • The Access to Sports Project will block the booking entitlement of any person(s) where their booking has had an associated person use aggressive or threatening behaviour. towards a member of the public or resulted in damage to the court area.
  • For safety reasons, no more than 4 players should play on any one court without the supervision of a coach.
  • Court usage in poor weather conditions is at the individuals' personal risk.
  • PLEASE NOTE: STRICTLY NO PRIVATE COACHING IS ALLOWED TO TAKE PLACE UNLESS IT IS WITH AN AFFILIATED TENNIS FOR ALL COACH
     

On Court Rules 

Please adhere to the following to ensure your courts have a long lifespan: 

  • Tennis courts are for the enjoyment of all players. Players are respectfully requested to treat all members of the public using the facilities, as well as those in the wider park surrounds, with due consideration and courtesy
  • Tennis courts are for tennis use only. Bikes, scooters, footwear with spikes or studs and dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) are all strictly prohibited on tennis courts.
  • Only appropriate footwear should be used. Football boots, sandals or spiked shoes should NOT be worn. 
  • Please do not litter and make sure you take all your possessions with you when leaving.
  • Please make your way off court when your booking has finished so that the next booking can begin uninterrupted.
  • During daytime hours please use the bike racks outside. If your booking will run past sunset, then you can secure your bike against the fence perimeter on court. It is entirely your responsibility to ensure that your bike is not a hazard to yourself, staff or any other player using the facility.
  • No cycling on court.

Cancellations

Bookings may be cancelled, and an automatic refund generated, for cancellations made 6 hours or more in advance of the booking start time.

Cancellations made less than 6 hours in advance due to poor weather will receive a credit worth the same amount as the original booking. This can be used for a future booking.

Weather affected play

If you are unable to play due to poor weather but cancel with less than 6 hours before the start of your booking, you can still claim a credit voucher for your booking. A credit worth the same amount as the original booking will be issued and can be used for future bookings:

  1. Cancelling your booking online before the booking start time. 
  2. Email info@finsburyparktennis.org.uk , include the name of the booking, date, and start time of booking in your email. (refunds to the original bank account happen automatically if done more than 6 hours before)

If you do not cancel a booking using our online system before the start time, you will not receive a refund, even if the weather meant you could not play.

Racket and Ball Hire 

We do not rent out rackets or tennis balls. All players must provide their own rackets and balls in order to play.

Group coaching bookings

  • Booking for one or more coaching sessions should be made online in advance. This allows the coach to know how many players are due to attend, facilitating lesson planning.
  • Coaching sessions must be booked in the name of the player and are non-transferable to anyone else.
  • Places on our coaching programmes are subject to availability and sold on a first come, first served basis.
  •  Players booking and attending coaching sessions are assumed to be fully fit. If this is not the case, the player or their guardian must inform The Access to Sports Project/Tennis for All in advance of any medical condition or disability which may be relevant to the coaching session. We must also be notified of any change or deterioration of any such medical condition or disability. We will keep this information confidential and handle such issues with discretion. We will always try to include any such individuals within our coaching programmes wherever possible, but we reserve the right to refuse the booking if we are unable to accommodate the needs of the individual or it is deemed to have a detrimental effect on other players.
  • Tennis for All coaching staff reserve the right to refuse entry onto a coaching programme or advise a more appropriate session if any participant is found not to be of the appropriate age/ability for the group.
