Gorleston Lawn Tennis Club (GLTC) is delighted to announce it has been awarded funding from the Lovewell Blake Fund, administered by the Norfolk Community Foundation (NCF). The grant will support the purchase of essential tennis equipment, including balls, rackets, and a storage cupboard, to enhance the club’s free ‘Come and Try’ sessions for players of all ages.
Expanding Opportunities for New Players
The funding will help GLTC provide equipment for open days, taster sessions, and community outreach programs, making tennis more accessible to beginners. The award represents a significant step forward in securing support for grassroots tennis.
Claire Pagan, GLTC Chair and lead on the application, shared her enthusiasm: "This is fantastic news for the club! We're thrilled to receive this support, which will help us welcome more people to the sport and grow our community initiatives."
Putting the Grant to Work
With the grant due to arrive shortly, the club will quickly put the funds to use, ordering new equipment to benefit both regular sessions and partnerships with local schools.
Supported by Norfolk Community Foundation through the Lovewell Blake Fund.
The NCF has encouraged GLTC to share updates, photos, and success stories as the project progresses, which may be featured in local press and NCF communications.
Thanking Our Supporters
GLTC extends its sincere thanks to the Norfolk Community Foundation and the Lovewell Blake Fund for their generous support. This grant underscores the club's ongoing commitment to making tennis inclusive and enjoyable for everyone in the community.
