Urban Green Newcastle and Newcastle City Council have received an update from the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) regarding the refurbishment of the tennis courts in our parks. The work will begin at sites that are requiring full resurfacing with the dates showing below (subject to weather conditions) A further communication regarding the start of works at Exhibition, Nunsmoor, Leazes and Armstrong Parks to follow later in the year.

Start of work:

• Gosforth Central Park 18/10/2023
• Elswick Park 23/10/2023
• Paddy Freemans Park 30/10/2023

To ensure the successful completion of the refurbishment process, it will be necessary to temporarily suspend parking on Moor Road North, adjacent to Gosforth Central Park. This will enable the necessary equipment and materials to be delivered, as well as to ensure the safety of all park visitors during the construction phase.

Moreover, to carry out the refurbishment work effectively and efficiently, the tennis and basketball courts will need to be temporarily closed. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and apologise for any disruption to your usual activities and routines. Please note that alternative courts are available during this time at Armstrong, Exhibition and Leazes Parks.
