Greenford Tennis Club - Annual General Meeting 2023

Chairman's Opening Remarks

The Annual General Meeting of Greenford Tennis Club convened on a sunny afternoon, bringing together a dedicated group of members to discuss the club's progress, achievements, and future plans. Chairman Paul Hayward welcomed everyone and began the proceedings by highlighting the key accomplishments and developments of the past year.

Key Achievements

  1. Court Resurfacing: The resurfacing of our tennis courts has been a significant achievement, providing members with top-notch playing surfaces. This investment ensures our club's continued commitment to maintaining exceptional facilities.

  2. Clubhouse Roof: We successfully secured a new roof for our clubhouse, ensuring the comfort and convenience of our members, especially during those unpredictable British weather moments.

  3. Lease Agreement: A new lease agreement was negotiated, securing our club's long-term presence in the community and providing stability for future generations of tennis enthusiasts.

  4. Membership Automation: The automation of our membership process onto the ClubSpark website has streamlined the registration and renewal process, making it easier for members to access club resources and events.

Financial Update

Our club's financial health remains robust. However, Chairman Hayward noted that rising electricity bills have been a notable expense. The committee is actively exploring energy-efficient solutions to mitigate this cost in the coming year.

Committee Re-Election

The AGM saw the unanimous re-election of the existing committee members, reflecting the trust and confidence of the membership. The committee will continue to be led by Chairman Paul Hayward, with Imran Kibria as Treasurer, Enrique Dorado serving as Team Captain and Membership Secretary, and Antony Kelly and Mark Reilly as committee members.

Welcome to New Committee Members

This year, we welcomed Stan Hill as the Club Secretary and Mo and Mohsin as committee members, bringing fresh perspectives and energy to our leadership team.

Farewell and Appreciation

Jane Gregory, who has served on the committee with dedication and commitment, chose to resign this year. In recognition of her long service and contributions to Greenford Tennis Club, Jane was awarded the status of a life member and presented with flowers as a token of our heartfelt gratitude.

Strong AGM Attendance

The AGM concluded with a strong attendance, reflecting the active and engaged membership at Greenford Tennis Club. The Chairman expressed his gratitude to all members for their support and participation in shaping the club's future.

As we move forward, our focus remains on fostering a welcoming and vibrant tennis community. With our recently improved facilities and dedicated committee, we're excited about the year ahead and look forward to the continued growth and success of Greenford Tennis Club.
