Court Bookings (instructions are below the form)

Booking Instructions

Non-members
Court 5 is available for public hire at £8 per hour and the Kidzone mini court at £2 per hour, during daylight hours. Bookings may be made up to 8 days in advance. The minimum booking period is 1hr, there is no maximum. Refunds will be given for cancellations up to 2hrs before the booking start time, so please cancel before that if the weather forecast is poor.
Courts must be pre-booked. Book on-line and pay with a credit or debit card at this web page, or by downloading the Clubspark Booker App from the Android or iPhone App store.  Bookings cannot be made in person or by 'phone. Please read the "Conditions of use" below.
When booking Court 5, make a note of the gate access PIN code shown on-screen.  You should also receive the code in a confirmation email, but don't rely on this.
The code format is *123456 (the * must be entered). Codes are valid from 5min before your booking and expire 35min into your booking. Re-entry may not be possible after this.
Check that you have the 6 digit code when you make the booking - don't wait until you arrive at the court. If you don't have it, first check the 'help' section below, then forward your confirmation email to booking@greenwoodtennis.com and we will reply with the code. If you have trouble operating the lock, detailed instructions are here.
A PIN code is not needed for the Kidszone mini court.
You will need to provide your own racquets and balls as the Club does not have any for hire.
Non-members cannot book a court after sunset as clubhouse access is required to turn on the floodlights.
Court 5 is usually reserved for club use on Sundays 10:00 - 13:00, Thursdays 19:00 - 22:00, Fridays 16:00 - 18:00 and for the occasional club tournament.
Why not consider Club membership to get access to floodlights, and free use of all courts? The Club welcomes new members of all standards. Membership prices are kept as low as possible and Kidszone membership is only £12 per year. Please check our membership page for details.

Club members
Members may book any court on-line for free, but please only book court 5 during daylight hours if all other courts are taken, so it is available for public hire.
Prior booking is required.  As a courtesy to other members, during peak times please limit bookings to 2hrs (particularly Saturday mornings and weekday evenings).  Cancel any booking that is no longer required - cancellation instructions are here.
Non-member parents booking on behalf of a junior member, should login then change the name of the user to that of the member, using the dropdown arrow next to your name at the top right of the screen. This can only be done on the club web site, not the Booker App. You may not play on the main courts yourself unless you are a member or pay the guest fee (see below). This does not apply to the Kidszone where parents are welcome to play with their children.
Instructions for full members booking the Kidszone, and Team Captains booking courts for inter-club matches, can be found here.
When the courts are reserved for Club social tennis sessions, all members are welcome to join in, but not to play individual games or matches.
Floodlights cost £2.50 per half hour.  Timers take £1 coins or contactless credit / debit cards - click here for instructions.
Clubhouse access is required to turn on the floodlights (see below).
Balls are provided for Club social sessions, but you must supply your own at other times.
Technifibre Champion balls may be purchased from the club for £5 per tube, with payment via the Nayax contactless card reader next to the floodlight timers.

Visitors / Guests
Club members are welcome to bring guests to play at the club provided the visitors fee is paid in advance. This includes non-member parents of junior members.
When booking a court, add the names of non-members as participants on the booking form.  A £4ph visitor fee must be paid at the time of booking, for the first 2 guests on each booking.  (£2ph for guests of junior & student members).  A person may only play as a guest 4 times, after which they must join the club or pay the public hire fee for Court 5.
Detailed instructions of how to book a court to play with guests can be found here: Clubspark guest booking procedure

Clubhouse access
Adult club members may use the clubhouse where there are: toilets, changing room with shower, kitchen, floodlight timers, table tennis table and key to the ball machine. Click here for details of how to get access. Juniors members may only have access when accompanied by an adult.

Practice wall
The practice wall may be used by anyone booking court 5 (members & non-members). Please be considerate of those playing on the adjacent court 4.

Ball Machine
The club has a Tennis Tutor Plus ball machine that may be used by any club member (juniors must have adult supervision). You will need Clubhouse access to get the key (see above).
Please use on court 3 if possible, to reduce the disturbance to other players. Only use on other courts when no one is playing on the adjacent court.
The ball machine operating manual can be viewed here and a hard copy is on a clip board next to the machine.  Contact Dave Thompson for more information.

Why is there a charge for the ‘public’ court?
The Tennis Club rents the court from the Parish Council and we also pay for resurfacing and maintenance. The money for this comes from membership subscriptions and public court hire fees.
We want to encourage people to play tennis and try to keep the fees as low as possible. The public court hire fee was increased in 2019 for the first time in 25yrs and followed an upgrade of the court surface from macadam to carpet.
Greenwood Park LTC is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers, with no paid staff. All money received goes into maintaining and improving the facilities.

Conditions of use
1.   Court fees must be paid in advance
2.   Non members may only use Court 5 and the Kidszone
3.   Players must wear suitable footwear (tennis shoes only - no other footwear or muddy shoes)
4.   Proper care is to be taken of the facilities and equipment (no footballs, bikes, scooters, smoking, chewing gum, etc.)
5.   Good tennis manners are to be observed
6.   The court may only be used for tennis – no other sports or activities
7.   Coaching is only allowed with the express permission of the Club Coach
8.   Children must be supervised by a responsible adult
9.   By booking a court you consent to your name being visible on the booking sheet to Club members (names are not visible to non-members)
10. All players are expected to take weather conditions and their personal fitness into account when playing tennis. In the winter be very careful on wet or icy courts and in the summer watch for dehydration and sunburn. The club does not shut the courts due to weather and expects everyone to be responsible in deciding whether it is safe to play. Please try to do a few stretches before you start and if you feel unwell or for example develop a muscle strain when playing, please stop. If there are any injuries or you see something on court that you believe might cause an injury, please inform the coach or a committee member.
Greenwood Park LTC reserves the right to request any person who has not paid the fee, or who is not observing any of the other conditions, to leave the court.

Help
If you have any problems with the on-line booking system, email booking@greenwoodtennis.com, but first please read the section below.
Common court booking problems
1.  Courts may be booked up to 8 days in advance.
2.  Non-members cannot book a court after sunset, as floodlights are only available to members.
3.  You must log in using the same method you used when you registered with ClubSpark (ie. Clubspark, LTA, Google, Facebook or Microsoft).
4.  If you are the main contact for a family member, but not a paid member yourself:   After logging in, click the drop-down arrow next to your name at the top right of the screen and 'change the user' to the name of a paid member. You can only do this on the web site, not the Booker App.
5.  Kidszone members may only book the Kidszone mini-court.
6.  Free Kidszone booking for full members is not enabled by default, to prevent accidental booking of this court. This can be enabled in your member profile on request.
7.  When using the Booker App, to avoid accidentally booking the Kidszone, select 'Any Carpet' rather than 'Any Court'.
8.  When making a booking, please use the drop down list to set the end time that you require, rather than making multiple 30min bookings.
9.  iPhones do not always display the court access PIN code in booking confirmation emails. Make sure 'Load Remote Images' is set to ON in message options.
10.  Ignore any on-screen 4 digit PIN codes.  Public access codes are * followed by 6 digits.  The members' 4 digit code is included in membership confirmation emails.
