Greenwood Park Adult Team Tennis
Greenwood Park Tennis club fields a number of different teams which compete in various local competitive leagues and some friendly leagues that are not so competitive over the course of the year. We would like to encourage all those members who may wish to get involved in tennis against other clubs to get in touch . Details of the various leagues and what the matches entail can be found in the attached document .

WINTER SEASON
Hertfordshire Vets
- Ladies over 40s - Captain: Lynn Marshall
- Mens over 45s - Captain: Ran Scribman
- Mens over 55s A - Captain: Andrew Marshall
- Mens over 55s B - Captain: Norman Ewing
5 matches at the weekend a mixture of home and away. Usual start time is 1pm and the match takes approximately 3 hours. 2 pairs required
Each pair plays 2 sets (7-point tie-break at 6-6 in both sets) against each of the opposing pairs. In the event of a tie the rules for men’s and ladies vary slightly.
SUMMER SEASON

12 weekday matches, 6 home and 6 away. (Ladies – Mondays, Mens A – Tuesdays, Mens B – Mondays, Men’s C – Wednesdays, Mixed – Fridays or occasionally Thursdays)
Start time 6:30pm the match takes approximately 2.5 hours. 3 pairs required
Each pair plays 1 set (7-point tie-break at 6-6) against each of the opposing pairs

- Ladies 2 teams (Divisions 4B and 5B)- Captains: Tina Fisher & Lynn Marshall
- Mens 1 team (Division 3A) - Captain: Ian Woodley
6 matches at the weekend, a mixture of home and away. Usual start time is 1pm and the matches takes approximately 3 to 4 hours . 2 pairs required (minimum age 14)
Each pair plays 2 sets (7-point tie-break at 6-6 in both sets) against each of the opposing pairs.
If the match is a draw (2 rubbers each) an additional set is played with one member from each pair making a new pair for each team. The first team to 6 games wins (sudden death at deuce, receivers’ choice)
Orchard League (Ladies Friendly)
- Captain: Claire Montgomery
4 matches usually in the week during the day. 2 home and 2 away matches. 2 pairs required
Each pair plays 2 sets against each of the opposing pairs. Each set is the first to 6 games no tie breaks. Start times vary and matches take approx. 2.5 hours
Mid Herts mixed (Mixed Friendly)
- Captain: Tim Ellis
5 matches usually at the weekend. Some home and away. Start times vary, 3 pairs required
Each pair plays 12 games against each of the opposing pairs. Match takes approx. 3 hours
