Safeguarding

Safeguarding & Inclusion at HUTC

As an LTA‑registered venue, Hawkesbury Upton Tennis Club is fully committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone who plays tennis or pickleball with us. Whether you’re a long‑standing member, a junior just starting out, or a visitor trying the sport for the first time, your wellbeing is central to how we run the club.

We follow the LTA’s national safeguarding standards and good‑practice guidelines, and we expect all coaches, volunteers and members to help us maintain a positive, respectful atmosphere on and off the court.

Junior Coaching & Player Welfare

We take the safety and enjoyment of children and young people especially seriously.
All junior coaching at HUTC is delivered by LTA‑accredited coaches, who are DBS‑checked, safeguarding‑trained, and committed to creating a fun, supportive learning environment. Parents and guardians are always welcome to speak to us about sessions, expectations, or any concerns — we want every young player to feel confident, included and excited to be on court.

Our Safeguarding Officer

Kathryn Kempster is the club’s appointed Safeguarding and Welfare Officer. She is your first point of contact for any safeguarding concern — no matter how small. If you ever feel unsure, uncomfortable, or simply want to talk something through, Kathryn is available to support you confidentially and appropriately.
