Corona Virus Pandemic (Covid-19)

Due to the developing situation, the club's directors are issuing further guidelines. The club is taking corona virus seriously because of the risk to our community, especially senior players and those with underlying health conditions.

From tomorrow, Saturday 21st March, some minor changes to our existing guidelines:

- No handshaking. This is a hard habit to break but please simply thank each other instead.
- Good hygiene. Please be mindful of others and ensure good hand hygiene (including hand sanitizer). Dispose of tissues, wipes and towels in a responsible way.
- Self-isolate. If you develop symptoms (a temperature above 37.8 or a new continuous cough) please self-isolate and stay away from the club for no less than 14 days.

New guidelines:

- Do not use the clubhouse under any circumstances. The clubhouse will remain closed until further notice. We do not employ regular cleaners at the club and cannot guarantee the safety of those who use the facilities or the club's shared equipment.
- Use a glove for your ball hand.
- Keep your distance. Keep an appropriate social distance when changing sides or resting between games.

All that said, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport has specifically advised the LTA that tennis is in fact one of the best examples of social distancing in practice, and so should be encouraged as long as the guidance permits. Tennis is also specifically identified as currently being a sport that is ok to play in https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51933762

We WILL get through this, but in the meantime stay safe and please be mindful of others.

Thank you.
