Playing tennis in Tier 3

It’s pretty clear from the actions taken in the last few days to raise the Devon area into tier 3 restrictions, that we cannot afford to relax in the face of this pandemic.

The LTA have been good enough to keep abreast of changes and update advice accordingly, and I would implore all club members to regularly familiarise themselves with the guidelines issued, not only to players, but also for the benefit of the venue. Visit www.lta.org.uk to find out more.

Whilst the club recognises its responsibilities, and will shortly be updating the Covid risk assessment, the level of control is largely up to club members to ensure that well publicised precautions are taken, such as hand sanitisation and social distancing, and of course refraining from attending if unwell.

Among other precautions worthy of consideration is the use of multiple sets of marked tennis balls on the court to avoid cross handling, and also not changing ends during play. However you prepare, please continue to enjoy safely playing tennis for as long as we are able to keep the courts open.
