Meet the Coaches

Anna Kverndal

Anna is our Head Coach and runs the coaching sessions alongside Sofiya and Luke.

About Anna

I am an LTA Level 4 accredited player, and I enjoy competing at all levels, playing singles and doubles. I love the adrenaline of playing a tennis match, thinking about what tactics I want to utilise and what shots I need to make. 

In 2018, I graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a degree in sports coaching. At university, I was the captain of the Women’s second team, competing in national and Northern Premier League tournaments.

I have been a head coach for HotshotZ for five years, creating and running successful programmes which include weekly group lessons for Juniors from 3 to 17 years old, and adult lessons suitable for beginners up to advanced players. 

I lead a successful coaching team, and we're passionate about creating tennis programmes that provide advancement and enjoyment for everyone.

About Sofiya:

Sofiya is an LTA Level 2 coach currently working towards her Level 3 qualification. A former junior representative for Great Britain, she brings strong playing experience, energy, and enthusiasm to every session. Sofiya is passionate about supporting players of all levels in their development and helping them reach their goals.

About Luke

Luke represented Great Britain 3 times as a Junior and finished as Runner-Up in the European team championships in Italy. Luke was in the top 5 in the country at under-12s and the Top 10 in the country at under-18s. He went to university in South Carolina, USA, on a tennis scholarship and had a winning singles record. 

Luke was the Assistant Coach for both the men’s and women’s tennis teams at the university for 1 year. 

Luke is a Visually Impaired qualified tennis coach.
