Welcome to the March 2026 edition of our club news letter. Here are some items of note from the past month:
Winter tournament finals will take place on the 18th of April, first match starts at 11am. Always a good watch so come down and show your support. Usual teas, sandwiches, cakes etc will be available to purchase.
We have quotations for LED replacement lighting for courts 4/5 and await the result of our planning application prior to engaging a supplier.
Dave Johnson managed to get the club a £4000 grant from Sport England toward the pickleball court which pays the majority of the cost. Completion anticipated for April.
The success of the clay courts means our next big project will be to resurface courts 6/7 in clay. Funding needs mean this is a couple of years or so down the road. However a suggestion to the committee was for the club to ask its members if they wanted to provide interest free loans to expedite the resurfacing. If this is of interest to you please contact Chrissie Eastmond for details.
Are you a first aider ? We need to revisit our list of volunteers and ensure that we are up to date. If you are a registered first aider and willing to have your name on the list displayed in the clubhouse please let Dave Johnson know.
If you want to book the clubhouse for a special occasion then get in touch with Paul Farrell directly or via the club email below.
Our next Wednesday Lunch Club is on the 29th April, so put your name down on the clipboard by the back door.
A load of rubbish? It would cost the club a lot of money if we had to pay for commercial waste management. When a bin is full and needs disposal perhaps you could take that bag home?
As always, any feedback welcome on tennishorley@gmail.com
