Welcome to the October 2025 edition of our club news letter. Here's some of items of note from the past month:
The large hedge in the car park has now been removed, and how different it looks. The remaining root mass will be removed as part of the court refurbishment package.
The court refurbishment specifications are with potential contractors. The companies approached are indicating that a November start may be possible. Obviously there will be significant disruption to the car park, limited availability of courts and care required in and around the affected areas. Before work starts we will give members a timespan and what to expect after consultation with the chosen contractor.
Congratulations are due to Jo and Simon Rosendale for winning the annual Weald league mixed doubles tournament. Well done!
The Tournament Committee have had a busy month with the new Presidents Cup competition underway and the draws just out for the winter tournament. Make sure you get those matches arranged in good time with due consideration to court refurbishment. Please take advantage of the reasonably decent weather and get your matches in early before it turns.
The next big social event is the Fireworks Night on Saturday 1st November; friends and family are welcome as always. Free entry with hot dogs and sparklers on sale.
Our Christmas party will be held on the 13th of December. This year's chosen theme is James Bond (007) film 'Casino Royale' and there's a prize for best dressed partygoer and a raffle to end all raffles!
If you want to book the clubhouse for a special occasion then get in touch with Paul Farrell directly or via the club email below.
Our next Wednesday Lunch Club is on the 5th November. Those interested, please put your name on the clipboard near the clubhouse back door.
And finally, a warm welcome to this months new members: Rob, Chia, Richard, Sofia, Samuel
