Welcome to the February 2026 edition of our club news letter. Here’s some of items of note from the past month:
Many of the older floodlights serving courts 1-5 are beginning to fail beyond economic repair. We have decided to replace those on courts 4/5 with LED units similar to those on courts 6/7. We are currently seeking quotes for replacement. We hope to retain the old redundant light units from 4/5 and use them to support 1/2/3 until funds allow for a similar LED upgrade.
The Pickleball court is to be resurfaced towards the end of March. Once surfaced it will need to cure for a couple of weeks, and then paint will be applied. We anticipate a much smarter and more playable court by mid April.
Quiz night went really well. A packed-out clubhouse hosted Peter and Sallys well compèred and nicely pitched quiz. Congratulations to the winners the Racquet Scientists, and we look forward to your hosting the next quiz night.
If you enjoy our club events and want to help maintain the excellent standard, perhaps you could volunteer some help with the catering for the summer party. Paul Farrell would be happy to hear from you.
If you want to book the clubhouse for a special occasion then get in touch with Paul Farrell directly or via the club email below.
Our next Wednesday Lunch Club is on the 18th March, so put your name down on the clipboard by the back door.
Finally, a warm welcome to last month’s new members, Madeleine and Tom.
