LTA Youth Orange ball (age: 8-10)
Orange Ball Open Day Session β HLTC Our Orange Ball session is designed for children aged around 8β10 years old who are ready to develop their tennis skills on a slightly bigger court with faster rallies and more tactical play. Using orange low-compression balls, players will enjoy fun drills, games, and team challenges that help improve rallying, movement, serving, and match play skills in a friendly and supportive environment. The session is perfect for both new players wanting to try tennis for the first time and existing players looking to build confidence and develop their game. Coaches will create an energetic atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to learn, compete, and have fun while experiencing what junior tennis at HLTC is all about.
LTA Mini Red ball (age: 5-8)
Red Ball Open Day Session β Horsham Lawn Tennis Club Our Red Ball session is the perfect introduction to tennis for younger children, typically aged 5β8 years old. Played on smaller courts with soft, low-bounce red balls, this session focuses on developing fundamental movement skills, coordination, balance, and basic racket and ball control in a fun and relaxed environment. Children will take part in engaging games, simple rally activities, and teamwork-based challenges designed to build confidence and enjoyment from the very first hit. The emphasis is on learning through play, ensuring every child feels successful, stays active, and has fun while being introduced to the basics of tennis. This open day session is a great opportunity for parents to see how junior tennis starts at HLTC and how we help young players build strong foundations for future progression through the coaching pathway.
LTA Youth Green ball (age: 10-13)
Green Ball Open Day Session β Horsham Lawn Tennis Club A fast-developing junior session for players typically aged 10β13, using green low-compression balls on a full or slightly reduced court. This session focuses on improving consistency, rally skills, and introducing more tactical awareness and match play. Players will take part in structured drills and competitive games designed to bridge the gap between orange ball and full tennis. Itβs a great opportunity to build confidence, sharpen technique, and experience the next stage of the HLTC junior pathway.
Yellow ball (age: 13-16)
Yellow Ball Open Day Session β Horsham Lawn Tennis Club A performance-focused junior session for players typically aged 13-16, using full-pressure yellow balls on a standard court. This session develops advanced technical skills, tactical understanding, and match play consistency. Players will take part in structured drills and competitive situations designed to prepare them for club matches and county-level tennis, while continuing to build confidence and a strong competitive mindset within the HLTC pathway.
Adult Coaching
Try our adult coaching taster session. Ideal for people new to the sport or who havenβt picked up a racket in a long time. You can borrow our rackets if you donβt have your own, just come prepared to hit a few balls and have some fun.
Family Time
Get on court with your family and have some fun. Weβll provide modified balls and rackets for the younger ones and coaches will be on hand to give you some pointers if you want them.
HLTC Social Tennis Matchplay
HLTC Adult Social Tennis β Horsham Lawn Tennis Club Our Adult Social Tennis sessions are open to players of all abilities and provide a relaxed, friendly environment to enjoy regular doubles play. Sessions are organised to ensure plenty of rotation, so everyone gets the chance to play with and against different partners. The focus is on fun, social interaction, and match play experience rather than coaching, making it a great way to meet other members, stay active, and enjoy tennis at HLTC.
