Club History

Horsted Keynes Tennis Club (formally Lawn Tennis Club) has existed for many years. These pages are intended to capture the history of the club in words, photographs and documents for past, current and future members.

We have started with some photos provides by local resident John Gallsworthy and his sister Gillian Akins with the hope to discover other wonders in people's collections. See the pages that we have started for the 1950s and 1960s.

We have heard from someone who used to live in Cheeleys, the big house that was knocked down to build the houses that are there now. She said that her parents used to have a grass tennis court and that is where the Horsted Keynes tennis club started.
