From Gillian -

I will do my best...unfortunately most of the top table is blocked by a waitress and her plate!!

Top left with bow tie is, I think, a Mr. Coon (not sure if I remember name correctly), he lived below the Congregational Church. It might be his wife to his left. She was tall. She and Helen Potter taught the juniors how to swing a racquet on Saturday mornings.

Behind the plate, I think it is Mrs. McCreadie, who might have been Club President and to her left is Jack Carter. (His wife, Dorothy, must be behind the waiter?)

Okay, now, beginning on the left and going down the tables:

First row on left, I cannot name anyone, although young woman at top left worked in Sayers and Carters (I think)

Second row, I can only name Doreen Palmer (4th from bottom); she was the Brownie leader for many years.

Now I can do better:

Sylvia Carter, George Tester, Marjorie Tester, Lesley Wood, Constance (Connie) Wood, two women and a couple I cannot name (young women next to man could be a Smith daughter?

Mrs. Fensome, Mr. Fensome, Flossie (Florence?) Carter, Sydney Carter, 2 no names, Shirley Wood, Miss McCreadie (I think), John Theobald (I think), the elegant lady on end might be Phyllis Aitken

(Fensome - I THINK that is the correct name, their daughter Susan was a junior member; they lived opposite the church!)

next row

Jean Gallsworthy (my mother), 2 no names, Bert Smith, Ina Smith,

top of last row on right

H.E. (Mac) Matthews, Dulcie Matthews, smiles I half recognise, but cannot name. Woman on end I am struggling to name...
