Iain Winstanley (Head Coach)

Iain Winstanley is fully accredited Level 3 Tennis Coach who has worked with players of all ages and abilities up and down the country.

With over 10 years experience Iain's drive and enthusiasm for tennis is as strong now as it has ever been.

Back Story

Having been a massive fan of tennis his whole life, Iain started his coaching journey by volunteering at local clubs while he achieved his Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications. Exeter University, Willand Tennis Club, Victoria Park to name a few. Alongside this Iain started competing and won the first of 3 tournament victories at Westward Ho and Reigate Championships.

His first big jump into coaching was in Surrey where he worked under former world ranked British Davis Cup Tennis Star Lee Childs. Very quickly he was offered a role at a fantastic venue under the tutelage of one of Surreys most succesful coaches and business owners Russell Dykes.

At this time Iain had not found anywhere to live and unbeknown to almost everyone was sleeping in his car whilst studying to take his level 3 Coaching award. Some nights the temperature was as cold as -7 degrees but the dream of one day being able to run his own programme kept him going.

After completing his Level 3 qualification Iain was offered a role as the Head Junior Pro at David Lloyd Farnham where he very quickly transformed the junior tennis programme from 75 children over 5 days a week to over 250+ children over 7 days with competitive teams and tournaments. This hard work was rewarded with the David Lloyd Employee of the Year Award which resulted in an all expenses paid trip to Dubai and the trip of a life time.

Then Covid happened.............

Iain moved home to Devon to be close to his family and like everyone else figure out what was going on. There was no tennis, no programme and with no job Iain decided to work for the NHS from home until it all passed.

This is where the idea for Bounce Back Tennis was born. Covid 19 had done so much damage to so many people. How could we "Bounce Back". Iain started to plan. He put on free taster sessions, approached schools to offer free tennis lessons in an attempt to get everyone including himself back onto the courts.

Since then we have gone on to grow a tennis programme that covers Juniors, Adults, Seniors, High School Tennis, Primary School Tennis, Home Education Tennis, Tournaments, Fun Days, Birthday Parties and anything else that we could do to get people on court playing the sport they love.
