12th October is "Wear It Pink", our legendary annual American event
This will be our 19th annual charity event, with all proceeds going to breast cancer research. Since 2007 we have raised over £3,000 for "Breast Cancer Now". More details in the "American Tourns" section of the Playing Zone.
IFTC are now registered with easyfundraising, which means you can raise FREE donations for us every time you shop online. We have already raised around £450, as at October 2025.
Over 8,000 retailers will donate to us when you use easyfundraising to shop with them – at no extra cost to yourself! October 2025 - Court 3 is now floodlit! - lighting is for the use of members only.
On 27th September we held another successful quiz night.
6th and 7th September - Club Finals' Day took place, juniors on the 6th and the main event on the 7th (apart from the men's singles, which had to be postponed, but followed on 12th September). See the Playing Zone for details of all tournament matches.
January 2025 - Court 3 was re-fenced.
October 2024 - Court 3 was resurfaced with artifical grass.
Rob Miles won the 23/24 Singles Ladder and retained his title with a hard-fought 8-5 win v Chris Hindle on 2nd May 2025. The ladder rolls on for 25/26. See the Playing Zone / Singles Ladder for details.
The 2025 Summer Leagues are nearing conclusion - we have 7 teams competing in Chelmsford, Chelmsford Seniors & Brentwood Leagues - see Playing Zone / League Matches for latest news.
The Winter League - the SFWL - started in October and concluded in early April 2025. Results were published on 28th April: All 3 of our teams were promoted (Men and Mixed were champions of their respective divisions), and they all commence the 25/26 winter season in October 2025 - full details in Playing Zone.

Do you or your family & friends want to learn to play tennis, or come back to the game? Then come and join us at Ingatestone & Fryerning Tennis Club (I&FTC). I&FTC is a friendly, inclusive, relaxed club in the heart of Ingatestone, with three floodlit artifical grass courts, located at the rear of the Community Club.
We aim to make tennis accessible for the local community
- Pay and Play court bookable by the hour - all equipment can be provided - (see Booking zone )
- Inclusive membership options to suit everyone for play all year round
- Junior and Adult coaching sessions
- Social play on Saturdays (3-5pm summer, 2-4pm winter) Sundays (10-12 & 3-5pm summer, 2-4pm winter) and on Tuesday evenings (6pm onwards), Thursday 12-2 pm plus Monday afternoons (1:30-3:30) - (see Playing zone)
- Holiday Tennis Camps throughout school holidays for all ages & abilities led by the coaching team - (see Coaching and Holiday Camp zones)
- Free sessions are available on request, and we can offer free 'introductory' group lessons for juniors/adults
- Annual knock-out tournament - see the Playing zone.
- Regular Sunday fun round-robin tournaments - (see Playing zone & Events)
- Teams playing in local leagues - (see Playing zone)
- Social and fundraising events - (see Events zone)
- Very reasonable membership rates for families, under 18s, students and hitting parents - (see Membership zone)
- Adult members automatically also become members of the Ingatestone & Fryerning Community Association and enjoy its many benefits - (see Membership zone)

To promote the tennis club, we do take photographs of children and adults participating in coaching and events at the club. These pictures may be displayed (without names) on our website and social media platforms. We aim to abide by the information in our Photography and Filming Policy, which can be found on our website in the “club policies” section. After use, images will be deleted from the device they were taken on. Should you wish to not have an image of yourself or your child taken and shared please make this known in writing to ingatestonetennis@hotmail.co.uk
