Club Rules

IPPLEPEN TENNIS CLUB RULES

 

1. The Club shall be called “Ipplepen Tennis Club”.

2. Full membership is open to all.

3. Safeguarding and diversity are in accordance with LTA policy (See the notices on the court)

4. Membership fees for the year, 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024, are as follows:

Playing Adults:                                                           £40

Couples:                                                                         £70

Young Adults 16 years to 21 years:               £20

Juniors (ie less than 16 years):                          £10

Family (husband/wife/partner with

children- 15 years and under:                           £80

Non-playing Adults:                                                 £ 5

Visitor's Temporary Membership:                £10 per week

Membership fees will be reviewed annually.

The Committee reserve the right to refuse, suspend or terminate membership.

5. The Court may be hired at £10 per session subject to the following restrictions:

(a) No player or group of players may book the court for more than one hour, but if the court is not required by other players at the end of their playing time, they may continue playing, nor may they book the court for the same hour on consecutive days.

(b) No hiring after 6:00 p.m.

(c) No hiring when the court is booked for matches, coaching or club events.

6. Times of Play: Adult members may play at any time except when the court is reserved for coaching, matches or hired out.

Child members may play as above, except that they may not play after 7 p.m. (5:00 p.m. during Devon County school holidays), except when there are no adults waiting to play.

7. Children who are not members must always be accompanied by an adult.

8. Members may book the court, subject to the restrictions in 5 (a) and (c) above. If the court is not taken within 15 minutes of the booked time, the booking is forfeited. If the court is not booked, members must play in order of arrival on court and must not play more than one set whilst other members are waiting. It is suggested that in such circumstances doubles are played.

9. Any member inviting guests onto the court is responsible for their behaviour. Parents will be held responsible for the behaviour of their children whilst they are on the court unsupervised. All players to be bound by the LTA Rules and Disciplinary Code.

10. Suitable soft soled shoes must be worn on court at all times. Members must provide their own rackets and tennis balls.

11. The padlock code will be changed on 1st April.

12. No bicycles, etc. to be taken onto the court. Any damage caused to club property must be reported immediately to a committee member.

13. An Annual General Meeting must be held each year during the month of March. At least ten days public notice to be given of any general meeting.

14. At the Annual General Meeting, the members shall elect a committee consisting of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer plus ten members. The members shall also invite persons to become President and Vice-Presidents of the club.

15. The committee may call an Extraordinary General Meeting to discuss any important matters concerning the club.

16. An Extraordinary General Meeting may be demanded on written application by ten full members to the Secretary.

17. The club Financial Year will be between 1st April & 31st March and independently examined accounts must be presented at the Annual General Meeting.

18. Any change on these rules must be agreed at a General Meeting by a majority of two thirds of members present and voting.

19. Lighting on the courts must not be used after 9.00pm
