James Starr is an LTA Level 5 Coach with a distinguished track record in developing high-level junior players and establishing successful performance academies across multiple clubs. He currently serves as a Surrey County Coach and County Cup Captain and contributes to the Regional Training Camps pathway.

Throughout his career, James has coached and supported numerous county and regional-level juniors, including multiple Surrey County Champions. His expertise in long-term athlete development, alongside extensive experience within county and regional performance environments, enables him to guide dedicated young players to reach—and often exceed—their competitive potential.

James has been recognised for his contributions to coaching, winning LTA South East Regional Coach of the Year (2020)LTA Surrey Coach of the Year (2019), and Elmbridge Sports Coach of the Year (2019). He also captained and coached the team awarded Surrey LTA Team of the Year (2016).

A former Surrey junior county player himself, James brings over 15 years of coaching experience, backed by a Diploma in Personal Training. He is also a Head-Sponsored Coach Ambassador, reflecting his commitment to excellence and long-term player development.
