Coaching Assistants
Iona Senew - From youth, Iona has been a part of Joppa Tennis Club and has grown into a great role model for our new youth. She has been coached by various coaches across the years, including Finn of present where she has aspirations to push on her competitive tennis at The University of Glasgow. Iona has run competitions at the club on top of coaching. She has gained her level 2 coaching qualification and continues to develop as a coach.
Callum Alexander - Coached by Finn at Craiglockhart Tennis Centre nearly 10 years ago, Callum has continued playing and has now started coaching with Finn on Tuesdays and Fridays. Callum has recently aquired his level 2 coaching qualification and continues to develop as a coach.
Rory Kennedy - Moving from rugby to tennis was certainly a change in early high school but I would not change it. From the very beginning, I have been coached by Finn McLean. I have competed in various events and made good friends along the way. In 2021 when I completed my Level 1, been helping at Joppa as an assistant coach. The kids leave with a smile and you, as the coach are rewarded with a feeling that you have made their day better. Most of all, my role as an assistant is to be a good role model and reflect my best self for the children to learn from as well as supporting the head coaches. Rory is now well into his university degree, however, is always welcome back to summer camps as a fan favourite with the kids.
