Tennis Leaders Course
WHAT IS A TENNIS LEADER?
Becoming an LTA tennis leader is a junior’s first step onto the tennis coaching pathway. It’s also a course that once completed can be added to your C.V! The course is modular based with a core module and three additional modules:
CORE MODULE
Introduction to tennis (Module 1)
- Knowing the basics of tennis; strokes, game formats and variations of the sport.
- Understanding how these variations of the game are used to introduce tennis to people of all ages and abilities.
- Learning about effective communication and organisation skills.
- Putting your skills into practice on court – in warm up activities and on court drills
ADDITIONAL MODULES
- Volunteering at your tennis venue (Module 2)
- Leading a practice session (Module 3)
- Helping at a competition (Module 4)
Those that attend the course are required to complete six hours of voluntary work at their local tennis club. Once the course is completed juniors will receive a certificate from the LTA along with a free t-shirt.
The course content is also suitable for adult volunteers looking to support their local coach.
Details of our 2025 Leader's court will be published later in the year.
