Ladies A ventured into the Herefordshire countryside on Sunday 12th November to play Woolhope A in cold conditions with a bright low sun.

In their first match Gill and Jo  took a 6-4 lead and after losing the second set 4-6 fought back to secure the final set 6-3. Charlotte and Kate playing Woolhope’s second pair raced ahead with a 6-0 first set. They also won the second set 6-3 after being 5-1 up.

Kempsey were now 2 rubbers ahead. Charlotte and Kate were unable to win their second match losing to Woolhope’s first pair 3-6, 5-7. Gill and Jo played another 3set match. After losing the first set 2-6 they battled on with very long rallies to take the final two sets 7-6, 6-3.

The win takes Ladies A to the top of Division 3.  The next match is January 21st 2018 at Goodrich.
