January 2023

Happy new year everyone and welcome back to our club newsletter.  It's a bit of a short one this time as we dust off the cobwebs and struggle through January but as we start the new year let's get ourselves ready for the tennis season ahead.   

Please let us know if there is anything else you'd like to see in our newsletter going forward, or if you have any updates that you think would be of use to our members.

Court Maintenance:

Just to remind all our members of the need to look after our courts to keep them in the best condition. 

Can we ensure that the drag mats are used before play and if you could please leave them flat on the courts after use that would be great.  In addition, we are still looking for members to volunteer to assist with the maintenance schedule.  The more we have the better and this would really help Mitch and his team going forward.  If you are interested in helping please contact Mitch Penman on 07706 935 111 for more information.  

De-Fib:

As a reminder, following all of our hard work last year to fundraise for the De-fib we now have it installed behind the clubhouse.  If you ever needed access to it the access code is C159X.  Signs and the code are on notice boards throughout the clubhouse. 

Memberships:

It's that time of year again when we have to renew our memberships.  E-mails should be with you detailing the renewals and the process to follow.  Please let any of the committee know if you've not received these e-mails or you are struggling to renew. 

Also,  if any of your friends or family would like to join the tennis club why not get them to join too!!!

Into 2023!

As we move into 2023 there are some things to advise you of and let you know what 2023 could hold:

The committee are looking at ways for the club to fundraise and we are considering running a 50/50 draw so watch this space for more details coming out.

If you have any other fundraising ideas then please let the committee know.

Another thing on the agenda for 2023 is looking at the floodlighting.  We are in the process of obtaining quotes from various lighting companies for the different options that are available to us.  As you can imagine this would not be a simple or cheap change so we will consider all avenues and keep the membership updated.  

That's it for the first newsletter of the year but we will be keen to produce these more regulalry and with the updates you are looking for so please let us know if there any things that you would like to see in it going forward.  I'll even add pictures the next time!!
