Longhope Lawn Tennis Club

Longhope Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1947 when the villagers of Longhope raised the money to buy the Memorial Grounds.  The Recreation Ground Committee manages the Recreation Ground on behalf of the Parish Council, with each Club being entitled to a representative on this Committee.  

The current Tennis Club Committee has re-registered the Club with the LTA after a few years break and are utilising the many benefits that this is able to offer.  Our Members are able to become British Tennis Lite members for free, offering entry to the Wimbledon ballot, as well as the Club participating in LTA organised events such as the Great British Tennis Weekend open days and Benenden Halloween Smash Tournament.  

We aim to be an informal, friendly club offering access to the two courts situated at the Recreation Ground. The volunteer-run Tea and Tennis Cafe will be open on Monday nights, for coaching evening.  Or why not try the award winning Forest Bakehouse just over the road (open Wednesday to Saturday).

We are a volunteer run, not-for-profit Club, with funds raised from our Membership subscriptions being used to cover Recreation Ground rent, LTA registration as well as maintenance of the courts.  You can help support us by volunteering with the Club, coming along to our events, sponsorship or fundraising.  We  want to improve the facilities we have in the heart of our village, offering a place for   all to enjoy, socialise and keep active.
