The club Championships are well underway at Meads LTC and members are benefitting once again from the generous sponsorship of local estate agents, Leaper Stanbrook. Over 120 members have entered the tournament this year in ten different categories.

Managing Director Andrew Leaper said, “Leaper Stanbrook is proud to sponsor the annual Meads Tennis Club (ROMPA)  tournament again this year and hope that the weather remains fair and that the level of tennis is up to the club’s usual high standards”

Finals day this year is on Sunday September 17th and members of the public are very welcome to watch some high-quality tennis matches whilst enjoying some light refreshments.

Chair of the club Hazel Sneath said, "We are delighted that once again, Leaper Stanbrook is sponsoring our annual Club Championships and so pleased to maintain our links with this prestigious Eastbourne Estate Agency."

Financial support is particularly welcome this year as the club has ambitious plans to extend its pavilion which was constructed in the 1980s. A phased development will see extensions to the kitchen area and improvements to the toilet and changing facilities ensuring better disability access.

A number of fund-raising events are planned including a fun filled Summer Fair on Saturday August 5th between 11am and 2pm when all members of the public will be made very welcome. There will be stalls and games, refreshments to buy and a tombola as the club opens up its beautiful grounds which help make Meads LTC one of the prettiest clubs in Sussex.
