Arundel LTC 1  v Meads Ladies Seconds 3

Meads ladies second team travelled to Arundel knowing that they needed at least a 3-1 victory to ensure promotion from Division 6. After a long drive and some impressive tennis that is exactly what they achieved as the Meads quartet proved too strong for a plucky Arundel outfit. First pair Clare Greenwell and Jess Gisby lost only 5 games in their two matches recording emphatic straight sets victories. Second pair Joanne Gale and Wendy Lambert were narrowly defeated in a championship tie break in their first match but they bounced back superbly to clinch the second match 6-1, 6-3 ensuring that on the return to Meads the promotion champagne could be opened.

The ladies thirds also enjoyed a very successful season gaining promotion from Division 10 whilst the first team very nearly made it a hat trick of promotions only missing out by the slimmest of margins in the highly competitive Division 4.
