Melksham Tennis Club enables social & competitive group tennis for local players - new members always welcome!

Club membership entitles you to:

Unlimited free bookings, for playing tennis with other members on Court 2, bookable up to 4 weeks in advance. Court 1 may be booked in addition 24h in advance by contacting Melksham Campus.

Club sessions are a great way to meet other players to practice with:

• Weekly open play on Sundays 10am-12noon all year round ; Thursdays 6-8pm in summer / Wednesdays 6-8pm in winter. Please note that Junior members must be accompanied by an adult to attend these sessions.
• Walking tennis sessions / Women-only sessions / Family practice sessions - Please refer to our socials (@MelkshamTennisClub) or contact us for the latest activity timetable
• Prospective members are welcome to try a couple of sessions for free to see what we’re all about – please let us know if you’re coming!

Socials: we enjoy regular socials such as pint & pizza nights, a Christmas dinner, end-of-season team celebrations and other events

Competitions:

• Tournaments: We hold club competitions across the summer
• League: We also enter doubles teams in the Chippenham & District Tennis League, playing matches across the local region, a small extra fee applies to play: League info & latest results

LTA-qualified coaching available: fun, structured sessions, ideal for beginners and developing players, book with Liam.

Wimbledon ballot: now that we're an LTA-affiliated club, all our members are eligible for an extra ballot entry, simply opt in for a (free) LTA Advantage Play+ account.

Club History: Our club dates back over a century!

The club was originally related to Avon Tyres, who opened their sports & social club on 11 December 1920, for their employees to play sports behind the management office at Melksham House. Avon Tyres was later succeeded by Cooper Tyres in 1997, before Wiltshire Council took over Melksham House in 2011.

The venue enjoyed grass courts originally, but have recently been upgraded (2021) by Wiltshire Council to hard-court surfaces that can be played on all-year-round. The tennis club has been recently re-established and has an arrangement with Wiltshire Council to allow our members to play at Melksham Campus.
