The 2023 Melrose Mixed Open took place at the club on Saturday 15 April. Local Volvo dealership Clelands of the Borders sponsored the tournament, which saw 24 tennis players representing eight different clubs from across the Borders, stretching from Peebles to Berwick, compete in the one-day mixed doubles competition.

An extremely close and exciting final saw Sophie MacBrayne and Gavin Harness (MWTC) beat Lisa Campbell (Peebles) and Craig Thomas (MWTC) six games to five. They were presented with glass trophies which had been made by Peter Holmes of Borders Art Glass in Hawick.

The plate winners were Sue Nicolson and Mark Brassell (Berwick-upon-Tweed). All participants received special bag tags that had been made by local company My Clubtags of Selkirk.
