Guidelines for Return to play

The club will open to members from Wednesday 24th June at 09:00hrs, the Committee needs the time before that to put in place all the requirements needed to ensure members are safe while playing; to communicate with members and to get everyone set up on the systems.

Members
Only members will be able to play at Mold Tennis Club and they should be registered on the clubs web-site https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/MoldLTC please register for the free membership until 1st September at this point as the Committee has not finalised the membership rate for the year given the National Emergency. Only members will be able to book courts, so please ensure that all members of your household who wish to play sign up individually.

Court Bookings
We expect there to be a high demand for courts given that the restrictions have just been lifted. You must book a court through the clubs website or app. Booking courts are limited to no more than two people per court (other than where doubles pairs are from the same household, all players are from the same household, or a coach is taking a session with multiple players from the same household).

In the first phase of reopening, one court will be reserved for Kathryn, our Coach leaving three for members. The courts will be available from 09:00 to 21:00hrs, the club house will be kept shut and at this time the floodlights will not be available, the Committee will continually review this.

Kathryn will send details out separately about coaching opportunities or you can e-mail her at krymertennis@gmail.com

In this first phase of reopening, booking will be restricted to each person being able to play twice a week for 55 minutes and also be able to book a coaching session. No back to back booking will be allowed.

On arrival at the club
The gates to the courts will be opened prior to the first booked session by a committee member, the locks have been changed so if you had a key it will not work.
Please arrive just in time for your game, it's not permitted for people to hang around. You should enter the courts from the club house end and leave via the gate at court 4.

Equipment

Players should bring their own equipment - it is advised to avoid use of communal rackets or tennis balls, the club has a number of new tubes of balls and will make these available to purchase for members to keep while stocks last. If you have your own balls please use them and ensure they are marked.

Avoid changing ends or if doing so use opposite ends of the net.

Given the length of time tennis activity has been suspended, it is advised that anyone returning to the courts eases themselves back in to play.

We recommend that you bring your own hand sanitizer if possible.Hand sanitizers will be available for use at entrance/exit to venue/courts where possible.

At all times, players should adhere to the Welsh Government's social distancing guidelines (staying at least 2m away from others), only meet up outdoors with members of one other household, and practice public health advice for hygiene. In line with the Welsh Government's restrictions, all tennis activity should be conducted locally within the advised 5 miles radius of home.

My apologies that we have to put the restrictions in place, but as a Committee we have a duty of care and we wish to continue playing tennis and any breaches could lead the Welsh Government to close courts again. As the outbreak on Anglesey and in Wrexham show we are not out of this yet.

The committee will continually monitor things and if courts are not been used we will increase the ability to book etc

I hope you enjoy playing tennis again

Kind regards

Tim
