Mold Tennis Club Open Day 2018
Tue, 27 Mar 2018 00:00
Mold Tennis Club is a people friendly community club and there is no better way to to start to enjoy your tennis by attending our annual open day. This year was no exception as many more people had a go at some form of tennis. Our Tiny Tots (3-5yrs) were up first and had great fun playing lots of fun games that help to build up coordination and movement skills. The Mini Tennis session (6-9yrs) as always was a very busy session with over 20 children enjoying our various skill stations. Junior Tennis for those 10yrs plus was delivered by the Tennis Wales Young Volunteer of the year in 2017 Jamie Hogg, who is now a regular coach at the club. He took the junior players through their paces with lots of fun drills and games.
Cardio Tennis and Adult coaching followed with many new adults trying different forms of tennis for the first time. Cardio Tennis is a fun workout to music where the only aim is to get your heart rate up through tennis activities. Our Adult coaching or Tennis Express, is a way for beginners or returners to tennis to gain confidence and learn a few skills. It was great to see so many new faces in these sessions.
As for any event at the club we heavily rely on volunteers so a big thankyou to our organiser Steph Bell and our Young Leaders who helped out on all the sessions. A big thank you to our committed coaches and also to Tennis Wales who were around to lend a hand on the day. Most of all thank you to the participants who are the ones who make it such and enjoyable day.
Our season now starts for 2018/2019 so we hope to see many of the palyers who came on our courts over the coming months. Membership is still discounted until May 1st and with so many members benefits on off this year it might be the best year to join.
