What's happening at Napton Tennis Club
Our Christmas Tournament this year was due to take place on Sunday 8th December, however, the stormy weather was no time to be outside, let alone playing tennis! All was not lost though - a few hardy souls braved the elements and came together in the clubhouse with Christmas cheer to enjoy some very tasty cakes, pies, cheese and plenty of mulled wine.
Some of those keen to make the most of the afternoon !
Check out our new LED floodlights - you'll be amazed. Winter evening tennis will be brilliant from now on!!
We celebrated 20 YEARS OF NAPTON TENNIS CLUB with a Special Mixed Social Tournament held on Sunday 29th September - a very successful morning, especially as it didn't rain !!
Thanks to Lee and everyone who took part and to those who provided delicious cakes.
Congratulations to the winners Steve and Tom, closely followed in second place by Diane and Martin.
WEDNESDAY EVENINGS CLUB NIGHT (Open to more experienced adults and older teenagers)
approx. 5.00 pm to 7.30 pm
SUNDAY MORNING ‘back to tennis/rusty rackets’ - 10 am to 12 pm, Youth play - 12 pm to 2 pm
FRIDAY MORNING SOCIAL TENNIS (trial period) - 10 am to 12 pm

LADIES LEAGUE MATCHES (see separate tab above 'League Matches' for Fixtures and Results)
FRIENDLY MIXED TENNIS MATCHES - Some of our members who are not usually part of a league team have enjoyed playing friendly matches against neighbouring clubs. These matches have been played in a lighthearted spirit and have proved very successful. However, we need more players – if you are interested in taking part please contact us by email at naptontennis@gmail.com or speak to one of our Committee members.
Thanks to Priors Marsden Tennis Club for hosting our first joint Tournament on Sunday 9th June.
A great time was had by all (even the sun came out!) and well done to the winners. We're looking forward to a summer of more fun tennis together.

EXCITING NEWS !
This summer we are partnering with Priors Marston Tennis Club to give Napton Tennis Club members some seriously fun tennis playing options!
On Sunday 9th June you are invited to play in the first Napton/Priors tennis tournament.
We will also be organising a brand new (for Napton), summer long inter-club tennis ladder. We hope everyone will join in. Both these events are great opportunities to meet new people and improve your tennis.

Amazingly, the sun shone and a happy time was had by all. Plenty of competitive fun tennis and plenty of delicious cake to follow!

CHRISTMAS TINSEL TOURNAMENT
6 - 8pm Wednesday 13th December 2023
It's back by popular demand !
Despite the chilly weather, the rain stayed away and the hardy players enjoyed some festive fun, both on court and afterwards in the warmth of the clubhouse. It didn't take long for everyone to warm up after a glass of mulled wine, a bowl of chilli and a few mince pies - to name but a few!! Thanks to the organisers, the players and those who provided the festive refreshments.
Well done to Esmee for taking first prize, with Karen a close runner up.
Our FUN MIX-IN TOURNAMENT took place on the afternoon of SUNDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 2023
Another great afternoon's tennis, followed by tea, cake and beer.
Congrats to our winner Freddie.
Looking forward to the mince pie tournament at Christmas- date TBC.
CORONATION TOURNAMENT - SUNDAY 14TH MAY 2023
We enjoyed a very successful fun tournament on a beautiful morning with 12 players competing in the Coronation themed event. Thanks go to everyone who organised such a fun day, not forgetting our appreciation for those who gave of their time to sand and paint the summerhouse and even do some gardening!
Everyone was rewarded with a huge array of sandwiches and cakes and we even managed to hold the AGM while munching away !
