We asked members to find something colourful about their adventures around Calderdale, and they delivered.
Some wore complementary colours, blending into the famously coloured beach huts at Whitby. Whilst jade green, amber and ice blue tones of sea glass made a lovely collection to bring home for jewellery making.
A colourful trip to Bradford’s Community Orchard on Apple Day was a hit. Maybe the cider press had something to do with that?
Muted shades at the waterside, visits to Cromwell Bottom and red cards on the hockey rink kept our members moving.
Moonlight in the morning was not to be missed! Salmon-coloured coffee breaks at Phoenix Men’s Shed, and even a black crow perched on a park bench, were ideal examples of colour as a theme for the last 10 days of the challenge.
Members have thoroughly enjoyed the 50 squared challenge. They’ve explored Calderdale’s hidden gems, become involved in activities supporting movement and wellbeing, shared experiences, stayed active, inspired friends and family to take part, and most of all, they’ve had fun!
Thanks to Park Member, Cathy Winterbottom, for organising, Active Calderdale/Voluntary & Community for sharing the challenge with us, and well done to everyone who participated!
