10 days into the challenge and Park Tennis Club members have a lot to be proud of.
To begin their challenge, 25 different venues/areas of interest in Calderdale were visited including Bankfield Museum, Beechwood/Brighouse Nature Reserves, Brighouse/Sowerby Bridge/Everlast/Swimrite pools, Greenhead/Stainland Parks, Rochdale Canal, Calder & Hebble Navigation, Norland Scarecrow Trail, Park/Queens/Rastrick Tennis Clubs, Phoenix Men’s Shed, Sowerby Bridge Wharf, YMCA Halifax, and Judy Woods.
A plethora of activities were engaged in. These helped keep members moving during the first 10 days and included core/flex/stretch classes, crown green bowling, dog walking, exercise bike, fitness tests, gardening, gym, hockey training/matches, house cleaning, jogging, Mr Motivator, Pilates, roller skating, rowing machine, running, swimming, walking, weight training, clearing vegetation/helping rebuild the interior of the Phoenix Men’s Shed, painting and decorating the clubhouse, and lots of tennis practice.
