No not digging for gold, just digging up the tennis court!

Today (May 11th 2016), Gordon Russell met with a representative from Labosport, acting as consultants on behalf of the Lawn Tennis Association.
Technical discussions are taking place with Labosport in connection with the possible replacement of the 3 blaes courts. They will advise the LTA, and the club, regarding the technical specifications for the court  replacement and floodlighting project.Assuming that we can raise funds for the project, Labosport's report will form the basis of the specification that will be used as a tendering document for possible contractors.

Gordon Russell reports "the sub committee is currently involved with the preparation of documents and reports to be submitted to the principle funding bodies, Sport Scotland and the LTA. We are also working with Jean Robertson the  Borders Council Funding and Project Officer, who is assisting us with finding potential funding bodies. The reports are complex, involving a lot of data, business forecasts and club development plans. We hope that, eventually, we will be able to complete the project, which will enable the club to have modern all weather surfaces to replace the 3 blaes courts.

At a later stage when a contract proceeds we may require professional assistance, therefore if any member is an architect, surveyor or has building contract management experience, please contact the Secretary."
