Doubles play resumes

Following the Government's statement last week, the LTA guidelines allow us to play doubles from Monday 1st June. Please read their guidelines (lta.org.uk/coronavirus), noting the following:

1.   Four players from different households can play tennis on one court but must maintain social distancing eg. stay at least 2 metres away from other players (including during play, when taking breaks and before and after play), must not make physical contact with other players and should not chase the ball down to another court if other players are using it
2.   Consider agreeing in advance which player will take the shot if a ball travels to the centre of the court
3.   Hand hygiene is 'imperative' - use alcohol gel to clean your hands after touching shared surfaces such as gates
4.   Players do not need to use their own balls, but if using shared balls, then extra care must be taken to ensure you do not touch your face during play
5.   If you develop COVID-19 symptoms and have played you should follow the Government's test and trace guidelines

Restriction on Interactions
The Government encourages us to limit the number of people we see, especially over short periods of time. We are therefore allowing up to six members to get together to play doubles and singles together but these players must not mix with other players in any one day.

Court Booking
Please continue to book a court before playing.

Clubhouse
The clubhouse will remain closed. This means you will not have access to the First Aid box, floodlights or to the toilets.

Social Tennis
Club evenings and afternoons continue to be suspended but if you would like to find somebody to play tennis with please visit the 'Play Partners' page on the Court Bookings section of the Pewsey Tennis club website (https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/PewseyTC/Booking/PlayPartners)

County and District Leagues
The LTA will provide an update on these in due course.

Please continue to follow the government and LTA guidelines.
