Message from Priestfield Welfare Officer

Dear Member

Welcome to the new tennis season. At Priestfield Tennis Club, safeguarding is everyone’s
responsibility and I feel strongly that every individual should feel safe in whatever they do or where
ever they are. Helping to promote a positive safe culture and ensure robust safeguarding
procedures are in place are so important. We aim to promote and prioritise the safety and well-
being of children and adults at risk. The Club is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice
reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with best practice and LTA
requirements. My role as welfare officer, along with your help, is to ensure that this happens.
I am pleased to say that Priestfield Tennis Club has just completed the requirements for the LTA
check on minimum safeguarding standards. Safeguarding is a standing item on the Committee’s
agenda and members can read the report in the minutes on our website.
