A Bright Start to Youth Tennis Saturdays at Purton
Today marked an exciting milestone for Purton Tennis Club as we launched our first Youth Saturday morning session of the season. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout, with plenty of energy and enthusiasm on court from the very start.
Leading the session were Nicola and Teresa, supported by DofE volunteer Tilia, who together delivered a fun and engaging morning of tennis. The session included a mix of cardio-based games to get everyone moving, along with focused coaching on forehands and backhands. Players also had the opportunity to sharpen their skills at the net, building confidence in all areas of the game.
A particular highlight, as always, was the children’s favourite game of “lives,” which brought plenty of excitement and smiles to round off the session.
We were especially pleased to welcome several new, younger faces this year. It’s already clear they bring great enthusiasm and potential, and we’re looking forward to seeing their progress over the coming weeks.
The weather was kind to us too; staying dry throughout, with even a few welcome bursts of sunshine making an appearance.
All in all, it was a brilliant start to the season, and we’re excited for what lies ahead. Here’s to many more enjoyable Saturday mornings on court!
