I regret to inform members of the death of erst while member Margaret Twentyman, better known to us as Mags.

Mags died on 13th April 2024 having been a resident in Marie Louse Nursing Home Romsey since last autumn suffering from a severe illness that robbed her of most of her vision, mobility and enjoyment of life.

Mags was a long-term member and committee member of Romsey Tennis Club, then RATC when the two tennis clubs, Romsey and Abbey, joined up in the 1990s. 

In her working life as a State Registered Nurse she was most recently the Matron of the Nuffield Wessex Hospital in Chandlers Ford.

Mags was an enthusiastic, kind and capable person with a refreshingly positive and caring personality.  She was ideally suited to the role of Social Secretary of our tennis club, in which she served us all until her illness overtook her a few years back.

Mags will be sorely missed, thank you and farewell Mags, we are all the better for having known you.
