Christmas Tournaments Enjoyed By All

On Sunday 22nd December, two Christmas tournaments took place for club members. With sixteen competitors in each, members played a number of four-game doubles matches amongst their fellow competitors, with each collecting one point per game they won (for example, a 4-0 win would mean four points would be collected). As the points were accumlated during each tournament, there were eventual winners following several competitive rounds of matches.

The joint winners of the morning tournament were Simon Keyse and Jane Howells, with Paul McCathie being the outright winner of the afternoon tournament. Despite the testing weather conditions, the tournaments were a success for bringing members together for some Christmas fun at the club. Refreshments were put on in the clubhouse afterwards. A huge thanks to our head coach Nick Searles for organising the tournaments, with Sylvia Knight providing the winning trophies, and our chair Carrie Drake for the soup and scones for refreshment.
